Secon, working in partnership with DOWL and JIA, delivered a complex live-airfield paving program more than a year ahead of the contract completion date and under budget, all while keeping airline operations on track. Highly disciplined project management created predictable work windows and minimized operational risk. In the field, Secon applied state-of-the-art practices tailored to cold-weather, short-duration paving while protecting mix temperature, optimizing haul sequencing, and maintaining tight joint control to achieve high-quality results. Safety remained the anchor through pre-task briefings, spotter/escort protocols, and work zone management on a constricted ramp. Client service was exceptional. Secon accommodated owner-requested adjustments with minimal schedule impacts and communicated early, often, and clearly. The team’s community relations and environmental stewardship were evident in proactive tenant outreach, dust and FOD mitigation, stormwater controls installed ahead of weather, and haul route plans that reduced traffic hazards on both the airside and landside. The result is a model of innovation, professionalism, and stewardship that exceeded the Airport’s expectations.
