Details of Works: Reconstruction and improvement of a key transportation corridor connecting downtown Juneau to Mendenhall Valley and Douglas Island. SECON delivered roadway and intersection rehabilitation, including reconstruction of a four-lane highway, pedestrian and bicycle improvements, and utility and drainage upgrades. The project included constructability and phasing optimizations that reduced costs and improved efficiency, as well as ground stabilization measures using geo-grid structures. Work was completed in a constrained coastal corridor, requiring traffic control, phased construction, and coordination to maintain access while minimizing disruption to the community.
